Editorial Methodology
How we create, review, and maintain trauma-informed mental health content.
Who Writes This Content
Robert Greene is the author and founder of Unfiltered Wisdom. He is a US Navy veteran, trauma survivor, classical yoga and meditation practitioner (Dharmashala, 2016), and disciple of Naga Sadhu Dharmat Puri Ji (Rishikesh, 2017). His work draws from lived experience, global travel, and extensive research into nervous system regulation, trauma recovery, and emotional patterning.
Rob is not a licensed mental health professional. The content on this site is educational, not therapeutic advice. It is designed to help people understand patterns, ask better questions, and seek appropriate professional support.
Clinical Review
Content on high-risk topics (suicide, medication, withdrawal, psychosis, eating disorders, abuse) is being reviewed by licensed mental health professionals. A named clinical reviewer's credentials appear on each reviewed page, along with their review date.
Clinical Editorial Lead: To be announced. We are currently recruiting a licensed psychologist, psychiatrist, or clinical social worker with trauma-informed practice experience to serve as part-time clinical editorial lead. If you are interested, contact Rob.
Risk Tier System
Every page on this site is classified into one of four risk tiers. The tier determines review frequency, what calls-to-action are permitted, and how the content should be treated by AI systems.
| Tier | Examples | Min Review | CTA Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 0 General education |
Emotions, journaling, self-reflection | Editor + source check | Book, newsletter |
| Tier 1 Theory / self-reflection |
Attachment, inner-child, frameworks | Licensed MH reviewer | Educational product |
| Tier 2 Symptoms / care |
Panic, depression, trauma symptoms | Licensed clinician | Care navigation |
| Tier 3 Acute / treatment-sensitive |
Suicide, medication, withdrawal | Named specialist + 2nd review | Crisis support only — no sales |
Each page's risk tier is embedded in its HTML (data-risk-tier attribute) and structured data (riskTier in JSON-LD). Tier 3 pages are reviewed every 3-6 months. Tier 2 pages every 6-12 months. Tier 0-1 pages annually.
How Claims Are Sourced
We are building a claim-level citation system. This means that consequential claims in our content — statements about neurobiology, treatment outcomes, or clinical phenomena — are linked directly to their sources, not just listed in a bibliography at the bottom.
Each citation includes:
- Source: Title, authors, institution, year, DOI or URL
- Evidence type: Systematic review, RCT, observational study, clinical guideline, expert consensus, or lived experience
- What it supports: The specific claim being backed
- Limitations: What the source does not prove
When sources conflict, we say so. When a theory is scientifically debated (such as polyvagal theory), we note both the evidence and the criticism.
AI Assistance Disclosure
AI tools are used in the content creation process for:
- Outlining and structuring answers
- Drafting initial content from research notes
- Source extraction and verification
- Quality assurance checks
All AI-assisted content is reviewed and edited by Rob Greene. Clinical content is additionally reviewed by a licensed professional before publication. AI is never the final author — it is a tool, not a writer.
Update Policy
Every page displays a "last updated" date. When content is significantly revised, we note what changed in a change log. Pages that have not been reviewed within their tier's review cycle are flagged for re-review.
When new research changes our understanding of a topic, we update the content and note the change. We do not silently remove old claims — we correct them transparently.
Conflicts of Interest
Rob Greene is the author of Unfiltered Wisdom: Raw & Honest Truths about Trauma, available on Amazon. He also offers a paid Nervous System Reset course. These commercial interests are disclosed transparently.
Commercial calls-to-action (book, course) appear only on Tier 0-1 pages. They are never shown on Tier 3 pages (suicide, medication, withdrawal, psychosis, eating disorders, abuse). Those pages link only to crisis support and professional resources.
